The best of inspiring collaborations, jazz and baroque!
For a significant life anniversary, the celebrant himself chose the recordings that he considers essential. Given the multitude of his musical contacts and the number of albums released, this is necessarily only a fraction of what has pleased us since the 1960s. The first CD offers a combination of images from the albums Zodiac and Status Quo Vadis, where it is difficult to name the final style, but it is wonderfully easy to enjoy Stivín' s collaboration with M. Pavlíčkem, I. Bittovou, V. Havlem, G. Jonah or Talich Quartet.
The second CD is called Jazz in Tandem, ie logically dedicated to an extraordinary connection with guitarist Rudolf Dašek, either in concert in Ljubljana or on studio recordings. The final passage of 3CD is then called Baroque Beaks and belongs to Mr. G. Ph. Telemann and A. Vivaldi. Listening to Stivín' s compilation of fantasies for recorder is a unique experience, opulent in the Baroque style and accompanied, for example, by the Virtuosi di Praga ensemble or the Prague Chamber Orchestra. The set of excellent music is complemented by a digipack cover with lyrics and photographs from Jiří Stivín' s archives.
