The Cat-tom and other animals
A compilation of short stories by the humorist Hector Hugh Munro-Saki. The English writer Hector Hugh Munro, known by his pseudonym Saki, became famous in the literary world as a master of the modern humorous short story. His popularity is comparable to that of Oscar Wilde or G. B. Shaw. Saki wrote political satires for the Westminster Gazette and was a foreign correspondent in the Balkans, Russia, and Paris. When the First World War broke out, he voluntarily joined the British army and died in France in 1916. Starring: Jiří Ornest, Jiřina Jirásková, and Josef Červinka, who also directed. Recorded in 1987.
