The Eye of God

The audiobook The Eye of God is the ninth instalment in the action thriller series featuring the elite Sigma Force unit. Written by James Rollins, translated by Zdík Dušek. Read by Jiří Schwarz, directed by Jakub Tabery. Sigma Force #9 Sigma takes on one of its most difficult cases yet. The crash of a US military research satellite in the remote wilderness of Mongolia triggers an explosive search for its precious cargo – data from a top-secret physics project studying dark energy, which is linked to the birth of the universe. The last blurry image taken by the falling satellite captures a terrifying glimpse into our future, a view of the US East Coast in flames. In the Vatican, the head of the papal department of ancient studies receives a mysterious package from a colleague who vanished without a trace ten years ago. The shipment contains two strange objects: a skull inscribed with ancient Aramaic and a book bound in human skin. DNA tests reveal that both the skull and the skin once belonged to Genghis Khan, the Mongolian king who died eight hundred years ago and whose as-yet-undiscovered tomb is said to hold vast treasures and the knowledge of a long-lost empire. Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma, along with a pair of Vatican historians, race to uncover the truth connected to the fall of the Roman Empire, a mystery stretching back to the origins of Christianity, and a long-hidden weapon that holds the key to humanity's fate. JAMES ROLLINS James Paul Czajkowski, a native of Chicago, is currently one of the most successful authors of adventure stories and thrillers.
