The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - Extended Edition (3BD) - Blu-ray
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - Extended Edition (3BD) - Blu-ray
The first part of The Hobbit trilogy.
Hobbit Bilbo Baggins is unexpectedly approached by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, who embroils him in an adventurous quest in the company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey takes them through mysterious lands teeming with trolls, goblins and wizards. The goal of the expedition is to reclaim the lost dwarf kingdom of Erebor from the terrible dragon, Smaug. The journey will lead them into the Great Wilderness, through treacherous lands full of goblins, orcs, and deadly wargs, and will bring them into contact with a mysterious and sinister figure known only as the Necromancer.
Although the goal of their expedition, the Lonely Mountain, lies to the East, they must first pass through a system of caves, where Bilbo meets someone who will change his life forever… Gollum. And he also comes into possession of Gollum's "precious" ring, which has unexpected and useful qualities. The simple gold ring is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot yet begin to fathom.
The film trilogy is a prequel to the previously filmed Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The Extended Edition brings previously unreleased footage from the film (the film is 13 minutes longer), hours of bonus material with details about its creation, and commentary from the filmmakers.
