The true story of a friendship that changed mathematics forever.
In 1913, self-taught Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan (Dev Patel) arrives at Cambridge at the invitation of his mentor, the eccentric professor G. H. Hardy (Jeremy Irons). However, he finds himself not only in a rigid academic world that is hostile to his intuitive mathematical theories, but also face-to-face with social prejudice. Together, he and Hardy must fight to show Ramanujan's mathematical genius to the world.
