The world is more complicated than it seems
An interview about the Middle East with an expert who has dedicated his life to studying it
Events in the Near and Middle East, centered around the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or the Iranian regime, consistently capture the interest of the wider public. However, there are not many truly knowledgeable experts and commentators on this intricate and complex issue. One of them is undoubtedly Břetislav Tureček, a former Czech Radio correspondent in the Middle East, a lecturer at the Metropolitan University in Prague, and the author of a number of successful books on Middle Eastern topics. The interview, conducted by journalist and historian Přemysl Houda, follows the life and journalistic work of Břetislav Tureček, his experiences from working as a Middle East correspondent, as well as their subsequent utilization in his writing and teaching work. In what direction will the hot Middle Eastern region continue to move, what crises await it in the future, and what are the possible ways out of them? And how is the world of Czech newspapers and media in general? This is not all about the book, which puts events in the Middle East into the necessary context.
