Car mechanic Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) has extensive experience with the Transformers. His goal is to find out why the Transformers have been returning to Earth for centuries. The answer to this question may lie with a distinguished historian and perhaps the greatest theoretical expert on the Transformers, Edmund Burton (Anthony Hopkins), who believes that the key to ending the war and saving humanity can be found in the past.
This highly unlikely group is completed by a beautiful Oxford professor (Laura Haddock) and an orphaned teenager, Izabella (Isabela Moner), who has experienced far too much with the Transformers for her age.
However, the greatest hero, Optimus Prime, suddenly transforms into the most destructive threat when he decides to save Cybertron at the expense of Earth. The last hope is Bumblebee and Cade Yeager, who must stand against him with the Autobots and, in a gigantic battle, save humanity from complete annihilation!
