
Breakthrough album of dance music - Underworld and their debut Dubnobasswithmyheadman from 1994 in remastered form.
Underworld is a band that has also gone through influences and changes in genres and also combines a lot of them in its music. Karl Hyde (guitar, vocals) and Rick Smith met in Essex, England in the late 1980s. Their first album, called simply as Underworld itself, was based on funk rock. At first they were successful in the USA, they released another album and even preceded the Eurythmics tour. But then they broke up for a while, and Karl Hyde worked with Deborah Harry. A new era has come - the 1990s and dance music as we know it today began to dominate the dance floors. Techno, house and electronics. Karl re-formed Underworld with Rick Smith and DJ Darren Emerson. The first singles were called The Hump and Dirty, but the first major success came with the psychedelic techno hit Mmm Skyscraper ' I Love You from 1993 and later the single Rez.
With live performances, Underworld soon gained respect and popularity, as did Dubnobasswithmyheadman' s third album, which can be considered the debut of their new line-up and new style. Techno, house, ambient, oak and sometimes pop melodies were mixed on the record. This innovative album reached a wider audience and inspired many other artists.
Dubnobasswithmyheadman' s album was a clear statement, nine tracks showed the limitless possibilities of electronic music. Although the sound was based on club music, it was not only intended for clubs, but also for the home environment or for personal enjoyment of headphones. Twenty years later, it turns out what a milestone the record was - one of the most influential in the history of British electronic recordings.
On the occasion of the round anniversary, the album receives a remastered deluxe reissue. Rick Smith rummaged through the material and released alternative mixes or unreleased pieces alongside the original tracklist. The result is a unique version of one of those boards that are placed on shelves marked classic. form
