As she digs into Gretchen's life, which is shrouded in mystery and white spaces, Josie uncovers a connection between a boy, a photograph and a devastating case from Gretchen's past. But just when Josie thinks she's beginning to untangle the tangled threads of the case, another crime happens in town - this time the brutal murder of a young couple. Can Josie find out the truth in time to save her friend from life in prison or certain death?
