Van Halen: 1984
LP Record The sixth album from Van Halen, featuring the single "Jump". In the American charts, "Jump" only reached the number two spot, as Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was unbeatable that year. However, Eddie Van Halen did contribute the famous solo to the track "Beat It". There's not much more to say about "1984" – it's classic Van Halen. No missteps, just plenty of highlights. Party, life is a wild, never-ending party. That's the message of this hard rock record, which frontman David Lee Roth channels with Hollywood style as the womanising "California Girls" type. The album showcases a macho attitude. The game of the sexes is fun; it's what life is all about.
