Various: Flute Sonatas (2x CD) - CD

“His style is not the style of Tartini, Somis, Veracini, or any other famous representative of any musical school that I know; it is his own style, and he has formed it according to the model that every instrumentalist should study, namely, good singing.”
This is how Charles Burney, in his musical travelogue, captured the distinctiveness of the violinist and composer František Benda (1709 Benátky nad Jizerou – 1786 Potsdam).
Over 160 sonatas by František Benda have been preserved, ten of which are intended for flute or flute or violin and basso continuo.
