Various: Merry Christmas - CD
Classical Christmas album, famous holiday melodies, excellent orchestra of Václav Hybš!
It' s hard to imagine a more typical selection of the most suitable songs for probably the most popular time of the year.
Bandleader Hybš placed overseas Christmas hits (White Christmas, Snow or Rolničky), stylish Russian (Zvoneček) and Czech folk songs on the original LP album..
Hybš' s orchestra, often supplemented by a children' s or mixed choir, also introduced soloists on trombone (Zdeněk Pulec) or French horn (Miloš Petr), in one case the singer Helena Vondráčková also helped.
Hana Zagorová, Iveta Bartošová, Karel Gott, Josef Laufer and Waldemar Matuška also joined the orchestra in the bonus part of the CD. This created a CD that fulfilled all the expectations of fans of the unmistakable sound of Hybš' s orchestra in the never-failing Christmas repertoire.
