Enjoy real champagne and buttery croissants served with famous French charm
Hattie is heartbroken and miserable. When she gets the opportunity to work for two months at a beautiful château in the Champagne region, she doesn’t hesitate for a second, booking her flights faster than a cork can pop from a champagne bottle. Preparing for her cousin Gabby’s spectacular ceremony is her chance to work her way up from a mere assistant to a sought-after wedding planner. She decides to forget her love troubles and focus all her energy on organising a fairytale day. However, she didn't count on one small thing… The gorgeous Luc, who constantly distracts her. They go on trips around the area, visit local delicatessen markets and enjoy picnics amongst the vines. Maybe it's the bubbles, maybe it's Luc's charm, but Hattie starts to wonder if this is just a fleeting infatuation, or perhaps something more.
Julie Caplin is addicted to travelling and good food. She is constantly on the hunt for the perfect gin and is unhealthily fussy about her glass, tonic and garnish. Between gin tastings, she wrote her first novel, set in one of the many cities she has come to know during her life. As a PR director, she spent several years travelling around Europe, taking top food and drink journalists on press trips (so-called business trips) to sample gastronomic delicacies in various cities in Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Denmark and Switzerland. It was a tough job, but someone had to do it. And it was these trips that became the inspiration for the Romantic Escapes series.
