His diverse short stories can be found mainly in the pages of the magazines Pevnost and Ikarie / XB-1, as well as in a number of themed anthologies. Nečas moves with confidence and bravura through both the sci-fi (Operation Picasso, The Sea Cries for the Queen) and fantasy (The Last of Four, Zeranin's Belt) genres, as well as the borderlands between them (The Journey for the Miracle of Bergedon). He also likes to combine them with detective stories, as seen in his debut novel, The Cases of Captain Ambrož (2007). A literary step aside is the purely fairy-tale title, About the Slightly Cursed Princess (2009). From the beginning, Ondřej S. Nečas was one of the hottest candidates to co-create The Hammer of Witches and is currently working on further episodes.
