Without mercy

Ellery refused to express remorse after she shot in cold blood a serial killer who wanted to kill her and had to take involuntary time off work. As a victim of brutal violence at the age of 14, she must also undergo group therapy. Only Ellery has more important things to do than „ to know what they feel at their core. “

First, – suspects that a member of the therapy group years ago helped to wrongfully convict an innocent man of arson resulting in death. Next – Ellery has been approached by a woman who survived a brutal rape and is looking to her for help. The man who attacked her, who is still at large, has Spider-Man powers and attacks his victims by climbing through their bedroom window.

Ellery seeks the advice of her friend Reed Markham, who once freed her from the clutches of a creepy killer and later helped her with the first really tough case of her career, once again saving her life. Reed is still attracted to this unpredictable woman, but the trouble is that now he's about to get a big promotion and his boss has one condition: Reed needs to stay away from Ellery.

Ellery ignores all warnings. Instead, he digs into the past of everyone around him except himself – which will get her permanently fired from her job at best and in the morgue at worst.
