The MikroTik cAPGi-5HaxD2HaxD WiFi router is a powerful access point for building modern wireless networks with the Wi-Fi 6 standard. This dual-band access point operates simultaneously in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, achieving a combined transfer speed of up to 1,774Mbps. At the heart of the device is a powerful quad-core 1.8GHz ARM64 processor and 1GB of RAM. This combination is the foundation for smooth operation and high throughput, even in environments with a high density of clients, such as offices, hotels, or public spaces. The RouterOS v7 operating system gives network administrators extensive configuration and monitoring options. The discreet design for ceiling mounting fits into any interior.
The access point uses dual-band operation, which is divided into two frequency bands. In the 2.4GHz band, it reaches speeds of 574Mbps, and in the 5GHz band, up to 1,200Mbps. Thanks to the 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) standard, it handles multiple client connections more efficiently and with lower latency than the previous generation. The device supports backward compatibility with older 802.11a/b/g/n standards. The modern WPA3 encryption standard protects the wireless network, increases resistance against password-cracking attempts, and secures communication even on open networks. In addition, the RouterOS v7 system integrates an advanced stateful firewall for another layer of protection. This allows you to define detailed rules for traffic filtering and effectively defends the network against external threats and unauthorised access from the internet. For secure remote connections, the device supports hardware-accelerated IPsec encryption and modern VPN protocols like WireGuard.
The device is run by a quad-core ARM64 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, complemented by 1GB of RAM. This hardware configuration can handle a large number of concurrently connected clients and demanding network operations, including complex firewall rules or VPN tunnels. 128MB of NAND storage is available for the system and user data. Managing multiple access points in the network is simplified by the centralised CAPsMAN system, which is part of RouterOS v7. It allows you to configure and monitor all units from a single location, which is key for large-scale installations.
The access point includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports for flexible network integration. The first port is used for data connection and power via PoE-in (802.3af/at standard). The second port provides a PoE-out function for powering another device with passive PoE voltage up to 57V. This way, you can power an IP camera or another access point, for example, without needing to install an additional power supply. In addition to PoE, the unit can also be powered by a separate DC adapter in the voltage range of 18–57V, which expands installation options in various environments.
