The Mikrotik RBSXTsq2nD Outdoor WiFi Access Point is a compact wireless device for outdoor use. It operates on the Wi-Fi 4 standard in a single 2.4GHz band and supports transfer speeds of up to 300Mb/s. The integrated 10dBi antenna with Dual Chain 2×2 technology supports a stable point-to-point connection or connection in client unit mode. The unit is powered by a QCA9533 processor and managed by the RouterOS operating system with a Level 3 licence, which makes it a fully-fledged router. With low power consumption not exceeding 5W, the device is very economical to run. The IP54-rated design is weatherproof and half the thickness of its predecessor.
The device is run by a single-core QCA9533 processor clocked at 650MHz, which works with 64MB of RAM. For the system and user configurations, it offers 16MB of flash storage. This hardware setup efficiently powers the RouterOS operating system with a Level 3 licence, which offers advanced network management features, including routing, firewall, bandwidth management, and VPN support.
The access point communicates in the 2.4GHz frequency band and uses the Wi-Fi 4 standard. Data is transmitted using Dual Chain 2×2 technology, which supports a theoretical speed of up to 300Mb/s. The heart of the wireless section is an integrated panel antenna with a gain of 10dBi, whose design has been improved over previous versions. This antenna is designed for creating stable point-to-point links over shorter distances or for connecting to a remote access point in the role of a client unit.
The device is designed for outdoor deployment, which is reflected in its robust construction with an IP54 rating. This protects it against dust ingress and splashing water. An operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C confirms its durability in harsh climatic conditions. With a significantly slimmer profile than its predecessor, it is easy to install even in places with limited space. Mounting on a pole or bracket is facilitated by the integrated mount in combination with the supplied metal strap. This port also provides power to the unit via passive PoE technology. The device supports an input voltage ranging from 10 to 30V. Thanks to its low power consumption of no more than 5W, its operation is energy-efficient. A single 10/100Mb/s Ethernet port is used for network connection.
