Power and stability of the MSI B550-A PRO board
The 10+2+1 phase digital power system with a precise PWM controller delivers stable energy to the processor for demanding operations. Core Boost technology optimises current delivery to key points with high precision. The reliability of the entire system is supported by a PCB with a thickened copper layer, which improves conductivity, dissipates heat more effectively, and strengthens signal integrity during overclocking.
Fast PCIe 4.0 interface
The board harnesses the full potential of the B550 chipset, offering a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for graphics cards with a bandwidth of up to 64GB/s. This slot is also reinforced with Steel Armor technology, which protects it from damage by heavy graphics cards. For ultra-fast storage, there is an M.2 slot with Lightning Gen4 x4 support, connected directly to the processor for minimal latency and fast loading of games and applications.
Cooling for key motherboard components
To maintain low temperatures, the board uses several cooling elements. The Extended Heatsink Design effectively dissipates heat from the VRM. The high-speed M.2 SSD is protected by the passive M.2 Shield Frozr heatsink, which prevents performance throttling due to heat. In addition, the Total Fan Control system gives you full control over the fans in the BIOS and software, including the ability to set up to four temperature targets.
Memory and multi-GPU support
The four DIMM slots support dual-channel DDR4 RAM with frequencies up to 4400MHz (OC). DDR4 Boost technology isolates the memory circuits for a cleaner data signal and greater stability. A-XMP profiles in the BIOS simplify setting optimal memory speed and timing. To boost graphics performance, the board supports AMD CrossFire technology, which is used to connect two graphics cards in the reinforced PCIe Steel Armor slots.

The rear panel includes USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports for data transfer speeds up to 10Gb/s, complemented by USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0. For internal connections, there are headers for additional USB ports, including a USB-C connector for the front panel of the case. You can connect to the network using the integrated 1Gbps LAN port, and the eight-channel Realtek ALC897 audio chip with Audio Boost technology provides a clean sound output.
