The Nikon SB-5000 Universal Flash is ideal for use in the studio and outdoors. This is Nikon's first flash that is radio controlled. Radio signals allow a working distance of up to 30 meters. This will allow you to create complex lighting schemes with on-camera and off-camera flash placement. The Nikon SB-5000 is also equipped with a new cooling system that allows you to take more than 100 exposures in a row with full flash power.

The i-TTL (Intelligent Internal Flash Metering) flash control is fully compatible with FX and DX digital single-lens reflex cameras. In combination with the WR-R10 remote control, light schemes with one or more flashes can be used. The flash can be used mounted in a sled to attach accessories to the camera, set up as a wireless controller, or used as a Remote flash in the Nikon Creative Lighting System. Wireless radio control does not require mutual visibility between Master and Remote flashes. Optical control is also fully supported, so existing Speedlight flashes can still be used in multi-flash setups.

The flash offers a guide number of 34.5 and covers a focal length range of 24-200mm (14mm when using the built-in wide-angle diffuser). A reflector card and diffusion attachment are also among the accessories supplied. colour filters can be purchased separately, giving you almost unlimited possibilities with the Nikon SB-5000 flash. Clear and intuitive operation is a matter of course, so you won't waste time. A total of three lighting layout modes give full control over scene lighting for very specific shooting conditions. The control panel clearly displays all important information. You can freely tilt the flash head downwards at an angle of 7° and upwards at an angle of up to 90°. It also allows horizontal rotation of 180°. Its low weight of just 420 g cannot be overlooked.

Nikon’s beginnings date back to 1917 in Japan. At first, the company mainly produced lenses - telescopes, binoculars, microscopes and other small, optical equipment. Soon the company expanded its portfolio, producing photographic lenses under the Nikkor brand.
In the field of cameras, particularly among professionals, Nikon quickly gained a reputation as a top manufacturer, which continues today. Its cameras were even included in the equipment of American spacecraft. Nikon designed and produced the legendary Nikon SP 1957, regarded by many as the best camera of all time.
