Active ingredients
Active ingredients in 1 tablet: glucosamine sulfate 500 mg, chondroitin sulfate 200 mg, MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) 200 mg, collagen II. type 60 mg, hyaluronic acid 18 mg, vitamin C 20 mg.
- Glucosamine sulfate plays an important role in cartilage metabolism. It stimulates cartilage cells (chondrocytes) to synthesize proteoglycans (the basic building blocks of cartilage) and is the main substrate for their formation. Glucosamine is actively taken up by cartilage. The administration of glucosamine slows down the development of degenerative changes in cartilage.
- Chondroitin sulfate is an important component of articular cartilage. It binds large amounts of water, thereby hydrating cartilage, promoting the formation of proteoglycans and reducing collagenolytic activity. The administration of chondroitin slows down the destructive changes of cartilage, relieves joint pain, improves mobility and reduces the course of joint inflammation.
- MSM is a substance containing organically bound sulphur, which acts to strengthen ligaments and tendons, suppress inflammation and pain, and regenerate and relax muscles. It also has strong antioxidant and other positive effects and is a unique source of sulfur compounds that have a positive effect on the body, especially in damaged articular cartilage.
- Hyaluronic acid is mainly found in connective tissues, where it forms the main component of joint synovial fluid. The higher the concentration of acid, the better the viscoelastic properties of the cartilage and the better their nutrition. Its administration normalizes the properties of joint synovial fluid, counteracts cartilage degeneration and restores its original properties.
- Collagen II. type is the main protein of articular elastic cartilage, where it ensures its strength, flexibility and resistance. The collagen contained in ALAVIS™ 5 is hydrolysed, which means that it is enzymatically broken down into smaller particles that are more easily absorbed in the digestive tract and are therefore much more useful for building and repairing damaged cartilage. Lack of collagen in the joint and cartilage leads to impaired mobility and progressive degenerative changes. Collagen ensures the strength and elasticity of connective tissues.
- Vitamin C is required for the metabolism of amino acids, especially the amino acids hydroxylysine and hydroxyproline, which are very important for collagen synthesis. Vitamin C also plays an integral role in bone and cartilage development. Vitamin C deficiency leads to lower strength of collagen fibers not only in cartilage, but also in ligaments and tendons. Vitamin C also promotes iron absorption and supports the production of white blood cells, which play an important role in immunity and protect the body's cells with their antioxidant effect.
ALAVIS™ 5 is recommended for administration
- dogs and cats with joint problems (especially older animals or post-traumatic conditions),
- puppies of large and giant breeds during development,
- sport and working dogs of all ages such as service dogs, racehorses, sled dogs, dogs training agility, Pulling, dog trekking, fly-ball, dancing with a dog, etc.
Recommended dosage and method of use
Tablets are administered daily according to the recommended dosage directly into the mouth or with a piece of food, or. crushed into the feed. The preparation is usually accepted by animals without problems. Administer the product optimally for three months, then take a break for 1-3 months and put the product back on.
