The GR III HDF is equipped with a newly developed HDF (Highlight Diffusion Filter) that highlights bright spots and produces soft and delicate images. Because the HDF can be switched on and off at the touch of a button, the user can switch effortlessly between two completely different visual expressions depending on the subject or creative intent. the bright, sharply focused images that are characteristic of the RICOH GR series, and the softer, smoother images captured with HDF. Creative versatility pushes the visual boundaries of snapshot photography.

Image quality and stabilisation

A high-end digital camera with a built-in Highlight Diffusion Filter (HDF) that allows you to switch between classically sharp and softly diffused images with a single motion. The camera is equipped with a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor without AA filter for maximum sharpness, three-axis image stabilization with up to 4 EV compensation and Dust Removal II ultrasonic sensor cleaning system.

Lens and focusing

The camera is equipped with a fixed 18.3mm F2.8 (28mm equivalent) GR wide-angle lens that delivers exceptional sharpness thanks to its high luminosity, special low-dispersion glass elements and contoured optical elements. There's also a macro mode with focusing from 6cm and fast hybrid autofocus combining contrast detection and phase focusing.

The camera is equipped with a 24.24MP APS-C CMOS sensor without AA filter for maximum sharpness, three-axis image stabilization with up to 4 EV compensation and Dust Removal II ultrasonic sensor cleaning system. There are 10 preset image styles with fully adjustable image parameters, the ability to save custom settings under the U1/U2/U3 dials, and a new built-in HDF filter for a subtle, softly diffused effect in highlights.

Advanced connectivity, reliable performance and a wealth of features in a compact body

The camera offers wireless connectivity via Bluetooth® 4.2 and Wi-Fi, and supports the Image Sync app for easy image sharing, remote control and location recording from your smartphone. It can record Full HD video (1920×1080, 60p/30p/24p) in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format with stereo sound. Technical equipment includes ISO sensitivity 100-102400, RAW (DNG) and JPEG formats, fast start (0.8 s), minimum shutter lag (30 ms), exposure modes P, A, S, M, B and T with exposure times up to 20 minutes.There is an electronic level, histogram, imaging grids, SD/SDHC/SDXC card support and 2GB internal memory. The DB-110 battery allows you to take approximately 200 pictures.
