The SAPPHIRE PULSE A620AM motherboard is the foundation for computer builds based on the AMD AM5 platform. The board supports AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors and integrates support for DDR5 memory and the PCIe 4.0 interface. Its mATX format, with dimensions of 244×235mm, is suitable for compact to medium-sized cases. The AM5 DDR5 mATX board includes two memory slots with dual-channel support and a total capacity of up to 64GB. The system enables overclocking of memory modules up to 7600MHz. For connecting modern components, there is a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and two M.2 slots, one of which uses the PCIe 4.0 interface for high-speed SSDs. The 6+2+1 phase power delivery ensures stable operation.
The 6+2+1 phase power delivery system supplies 55A to each phase, contributing to stable power for the processor cores even under load. The PULSE heatsink armour dissipates heat from the voltage regulators (VRM) and chipset. To build an effective cooling system, the board offers four system fan connectors and two ARGB headers. The connectors allow for the connection and management of backlit components and their synchronisation via compatible software.
Equipped with two slots, the board supports DDR5 memory in a dual-channel configuration with a total capacity of up to 64GB (2×32GB). The system works with profiles for overclocking memory modules to 7600MHz, thereby increasing data throughput. The board offers one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for a graphics card. This is complemented by one open-ended PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, which physically supports larger cards such as 10G network cards or specialised sound cards.
For fast storage, the board offers one M.2 slot with a PCIe 4.0 interface and a second with a PCIe 3.0 interface. This combination provides space for a system NVMe SSD and another fast drive. Additionally, the board provides four SATA III ports with support for RAID 0, 1, and 10 arrays for optimising speed or data security. The rear panel includes four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a PS/2 port, an HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.2 graphics output, and a connector for a 1Gbps Realtek network connection.
Integrated diagnostic LEDs indicate the status of key components (CPU, DRAM, GPU, Boot) during system startup and help to quickly identify any potential problems. The SAPPHIRE CORE BIOS provides an interface for setting system parameters. The board also supports TriXX-M software for managing and synchronising the dynamic lighting connected to the ARGB headers. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and a stainless steel rear I/O panel increase the board's durability.
