Seagate SkyHawk 6TB
The Seagate SkyHawk 6TB hard disk ranks among the high load internal HDDs for monitoring systems. 3.5" HDDs are designed primarily for desktop computers and data centres. You can look forward to a total data capacity of 6000 GB. The device uses a 256 MB memory cache. You can connect the Seagate hard disk and other hardware is facilitated through the SATA III interface.
Seagate SkyHawk 6TB Hard Disk Key Features
- 256 MB memory cache
- Seagate 3.5" drive is compatible with classic bays
- Standard power consumption is 5,3 W, while in stand-by mode it holds at 0.25 W
- You can connect it to a PC or other devices via the SATA III interface
Standard HDDs are notable for their construction. The enclosure conceals a mechanism that utilises moving platters accompanied by disk read/write heads. These mechanical parts are admittedly more sensitive to shocks, but at the same time you get an excellent price/storage capacity ratio. File access speed and stability is also determined by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Seagate hard drive includes a 256 MB cache that keeps the last written data for their speedy reading.
Connecting the Seagate HDD
If you want to install the Seagate SkyHawk 6TB in the device of your choice, you need a 3.5" slot. Data transfer happens via the SATA III interface with a speed of 3 Gbit/s. This technology is one of the most popular HDD data transfer options available and delivers a speed of 600 MB/s.
