
SMECTA is used:
For the treatment of acute diarrhea
In children from 2 years of age, concomitantly with the administration of an oral rehydration solution (intended to replenish fluid in the body), and for the treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults.
For the treatment of chronic (long-term) diarrhea in adults. To suppress painful symptoms associated with functional bowel disease in adults
SMECTA® - a solution for multiple types of diarrhea.
Natural purified clay. For multiple types of diarrhea (viruses, bacteria, dietary error). Suitable for adults and children aged 2 years and over, at the same time as using an oral rehydration solution. Protects the lining of the intestines. Pack of 10 and 30 sachets.
Children from 2 years:
2 sachets per day, at the same time as a solution intended to replenish fluids in the body.
Adults: 3 sachets a day.
At the onset of an acute diarrheal episode, this dose may be doubled.
Treatment of other indications:
Adults:
3 sachets a day.
Use: Just before use, dissolve the contents of the sachet in 50 ml of water or mix into the baby's semi-liquid food.
SMECTA® is suitable for adults and children from 2 years of age.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Read the package insert carefully.
TAKE CARE! Because the absorption properties of this product may affect the rate or degree of absorption of other drugs, it is not recommended that other drugs be administered concurrently with the use of SMECTY®.
If the symptoms do not subside within 7 days of treatment (up to 3 days in children), the patient's condition worsens or blood appears in the stool, it is necessary to seek medical attention.
Always see a doctor when young children have diarrhoea.
Treatment with SMECTOA® does not exclude rehydration (= fluid replenishment) if necessary. The level of rehydration and the method of administration should be adapted to the age and condition of the patient and the severity of diarrhoea. Consult a physician in the event of an overdose or accidental ingestion of a large amount by a child.
Keep this product out of sight and reach of children. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the box after EXP. Time expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. This medicine does not require any special storage conditions. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment the environment.
