At the heart of the optical system is a sensitive 5MP imaging sensor, which works with a fixed 2.8mm focal length lens and an F1.8 aperture. This hardware configuration allows the camera to capture scenes at a maximum resolution of 2880×1620px at a smooth 30 FPS with a horizontal viewing angle of 110°, a vertical angle of 56°, and a screen size angle of 132°. For efficient storage management, the device uses advanced H.265 and H.264 video encoding, which reduces bandwidth and disk space requirements while maintaining maximum detail quality.
Night Vision
In low-light conditions or complete darkness, the classic infrared night vision is automatically activated. The powerful integrated IR LED provides uniform illumination of the monitored area with a maximum range of up to 30m. Thanks to multi-exposure HDR technology and advanced noise reduction, the camera can render clear details without overexposing bright areas, making it easier to identify faces or registration plates even at night.
Smart AI Detection and Instant Search
The device is equipped with advanced Edge AI, which processes data directly on the camera without needing to burden the server. The system reliably recognises people and vehicles, and analyses intrusions into defined areas, such as zone entry, crowd detection, or loitering detection. The Instant Search feature allows you to instantly find specific events and motion in recorded data, while mobile notifications immediately alert the user to any suspicious activity.
Built-in Microphone and Acoustic Detection
For comprehensive situational monitoring, the camera body has a built-in microphone that captures clear audio from the surrounding environment. The integrated microphone not only allows you to record an audio track with the video footage but also serves as an additional detection tool. The system can trigger an alarm based on sound detection and instantly send a notification to a mobile phone, increasing the security level of the monitored property.
Recording Storage and Edge Recording Backup
Recordings can be saved directly to a Synology network storage device, a cloud service, or locally to a memory card. The integrated MicroSDXC memory card slot supports media up to a maximum capacity of 256GB. The Failover Edge Recording feature ensures that recording automatically switches to the microSD card in the event of an unexpected network connection failure to the NAS, thus preventing the loss of important data.
Connectivity and Applications
Connectivity is provided by a single RJ-45 Ethernet port with a speed of 10/100 Mbps, which supports convenient power over an Ethernet cable using the PoE 802.3af standard. The camera is fully compatible with the professional Synology Surveillance Station system and the DS cam mobile app, which are available for Android, iOS, and Windows operating systems. For easy management and network integration, the interface is localised in Czech, English, German, and Hungarian.
