Historie značky Tefal se začala psát roku 1954, kdy značku založil ve Francii Marc Grégoire po té, co doma vyrobil pro svou manželku první nepřilnavou pánev. Postupně povrch aplikoval i na další kuchyňské náčiní a revoluce ve vaření byla na světě. Během své dlouhé historie přišla značka s obrovským množstvím převratných inovací, mezi kterými zmiňme například bezdrátovou žehličku. V současnosti zahrnuje široká nabídka značky Tefal nejen téměř všechny myslitelné pomocníky do kuchyně, ale i například žehličky nebo váhy. Od roku 1968 patří značka Tefal do silné mezinárodní skupiny Groupe SEB.
