E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.2m SAFE Select BNF Basic
The upgraded version of the popular P-51D Mustang, with a 1.2 metre wingspan, offers full warplane features - functional flaps and retractable landing gear - complemented by an upgraded 70A smart controller and a new livery in the style of the iconic "Cripes A'Mighty 3rd". The P-51D Mustang is one of the most famous and popular fighter aircraft of all time. Its unique design allowed it to achieve top performance among all WWII fighters. The drive is compatible with both 3S and 4S batteries and includes a specially tuned motor and upgraded 70A smart controller. In addition, the BNF Basic version includes a receiver with telemetry and AS3X stabilisation technology - as well as the optional SAFE Select function to make flying even easier. This makes the P-51D a smart choice among full-featured warplanes for a wide range of pilots.

Advanced AS3X and SAFE Select stabilization technologies
The BNF Basic version is equipped with Spektrum's exclusive AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. The AS3X works in the background to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence, creating a "locked-in" feeling, as if you were piloting a much larger aircraft. SAFE Select offers tilt and pitch/roll limitation and automatic leveling, which can be turned on and off with a switch on the transmitter. If you don't want to use SAFE Select, just pair the receiver by default and only AS3X will be active.
Smart controller with real-time telemetry
The P-51D Mustang 1.2m is equipped with a Spektrum Avian Smart Lite 70A controller, which provides various real-time telemetry data about the propulsion system - such as engine speed, current, battery voltage and more. The data works with both Smart and regular batteries, via compatible receivers (including AR631) and transmitters with Spektrum AirWare (e.g. DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 a 10, iX12, iX14, iX20 and others).
Powerful drive and realistic layout
The factory-installed brushless drive system includes a 70A Spektrum Avian Smart Lite controller, a specially tuned motor and a four-blade propeller. The system delivers powerful thrust with a 3-cell LiPol battery, and higher speed and unlimited climbing power with a 4-cell battery - without the need for additional modifications or replacements. Lightweight yet durable construction made from composite reinforcements and fully molded EPO foam features a wealth of mock-up details, including molded panels, pilot figure and more. Functional mock-up features include factory-installed retractable landing gear with leg covers and functional flaps that further enhance the realistic flying experience.
Iconic colouring and easy assembly without glue
The model is factory finished in the "Cripes A'Mighty 3rd" livery, inspired by the aircraft of George Earl Preddy Jr., the most successful fighter on the P-51 Mustang during World War II. No glue is needed to assemble the model and the P-51D Mustang 1.2m can be ready to fly before you can charge the battery. While it is sized for transport in its entirety in almost any vehicle, the wing can be easily removed for even easier storage and transport.
Fast commissioning thanks to Bind-N-Fly and AS3X / SAFE Select technologies
Bind-N-Fly (BNF) models make it quick and easy to get airborne while offering the best possible driving experience. It comes out of the box with the drive system, servos and Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed - just pair with a compatible transmitter, complete the minor assembly and you're ready to fly. The BNF Basic model is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4 GHz DSMX receiver with AS3X (Artificial Stabilization - 3 Axis) technology that works in the background to compensate for wind and turbulence. The result is greater stability and precision that makes you feel like you're flying a larger, more finely tuned aircraft. If this is your first model of this type, or you want to have a greater margin of safety when familiarizing yourself with the aircraft, you can activate the optional SAFE Select technology already integrated in the receiver. You don't need any programming - just modify the pairing procedure according to the manual.
