The device operates exclusively in the 2.4GHz band and fully supports the 802.11n, 802.11g and 802.11b wireless standards. This gives it a maximum theoretical transfer speed of 300Mb/s. Durable construction and flexible installation
The manufacturer has designed this outdoor WiFi AP for reliable outdoor operation. It has an IP65 rating, which means complete protection against dust ingress and resistance to water jets. An operating temperature range of -30°C to 65°C confirms its readiness for year-round deployment. Installation is greatly simplified by its support for Power over Ethernet (PoE). The access point accepts both active 802.3af and passive 48V PoE, eliminating the need to run a separate power cable to the device. A single 100Mb/s RJ-45 port provides the physical connection. This port connects to the backbone network and also powers the device using PoE. A mounting kit for wall or pole installation is included in the package.
Centralised management in the Omada SDN ecosystem
Integration into the Omada Software Defined Networking (SDN) platform is a key feature of this access point. Omada SDN unifies network devices, including access points, switches and gateways, into a single interface. This enables centralised cloud management and monitoring of the entire network from anywhere in the world. Administrators can use the web interface or the Omada mobile app to easily configure, monitor network status in real time and perform bulk firmware updates. The platform also supports features like Zero-Touch Provisioning to simplify the deployment of multiple units. To protect wireless traffic, the device offers a suite of modern security standards. It supports WPA/WPA2-PSK encryption as well as the more robust WPA/WPA2-Enterprise variant. For guest networks, it offers a Captive Portal feature that requires users to authenticate before accessing the network, for example via SMS or a voucher.
