TP-Link EAP723, Omada
The TP-Link EAP723 Omada WiFi access point is a dual-band access point designed for high-density client networks, using the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard. The device provides a combined wireless speed of up to 3570Mbps, split into 688Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 2882Mbps on the 5GHz band. This Omada WiFi 7 access point integrates MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies, which serve multiple connected devices simultaneously and reduce network latency. Signal distribution is handled by 4 internal antennas with optimised gain for each band. This makes this PoE WiFi access point ideal for deployment in environments such as offices, schools or hotels, where a stable and fast connection is needed for a large number of users.
Key features of the TP-Link EAP723 Omada WiFi access point
- MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies for efficient data transfer
- Equipped with one 2.5Gbit Ethernet LAN port
- Operates in Access Point mode
- Supports modern WPA3 security
- Centralised management via the Omada SDN cloud platform
- Control via the mobile app and web interface
Next-generation performance with Wi-Fi 7
The access point supports the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard and maintains backward compatibility with older 802.11n/ac/ax standards. To efficiently serve multiple clients simultaneously and reduce network latency, it uses MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies, which is key in high-density traffic environments. Signal transmission is provided by four internal antennas with a gain of 2× 4dBi for the 2.4GHz band and 2× 5dBi for the 5GHz band. This configuration contributes to even coverage and a reliable connection.
Centralised management with the Omada WiFi 7 access point
The device is fully integrated into the Omada SDN (Software-Defined Networking) platform, which unifies the management of network elements into a single interface. Administrators can configure and monitor the network locally or remotely via the cloud. Management is handled via the web interface or the Omada mobile app, which simplifies deployment, maintenance and real-time troubleshooting. The platform also supports features like seamless roaming for a smooth transition of clients between access points.
Encryption and protection
To protect wireless traffic, it offers modern WPA3 encryption, which increases the level of security against attacks. The device also supports older WPA2 and WPA2-Enterprise standards to ensure broad compatibility with various client devices. You can create up to 16 separate SSIDs, which serves to logically separate network traffic. This allows you to create separate networks for employees, guests or IoT devices, for example, which increases the security and clarity of the entire infrastructure.
WiFi access point installation and power
The access point includes one 2.5Gbit Ethernet port for connecting to the wired network, which eliminates the bottleneck between the wireless and wired parts of the network. This port also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to 802.3af and 802.3at standards. PoE support simplifies installation in places with difficult access to electrical sockets. Alternatively, the device can be powered by a 12V DC adapter.
