A switch is a functional network unit that connects individual devices and other network elements. It is designed for managing network traffic. The TP-LINK TL-SL1218MP is made to be mounted in a rack. The Switch is equipped with 18 × RJ-45 ports that facilitate connection with network elements. 2 SFP connectors serve to transport data via optical fibers. 10/100Base-T technology facilitates data transfer with a speed of up to 100 Mbit/s. It works with Dual Personality ports, notable for including both the RJ-45 and SFP connector ; however, only one of them can be used at a time. The switch dimensions are 440 × 44 × 180mm.
