The TP-Link VIGI C230 outdoor dome IP camera delivers reliable security with a high 3MP resolution of 2304 × 1296 px to capture all the details. The 1/2.8" Progressive Scan CMOS sensor, combined with a fixed 2.8mm lens, provides a wide field of view with a horizontal angle of 107.5°. The device offers hybrid night vision with a range of up to 30m, which combines classic infrared illumination with white LED light for a colour image even in complete darkness. Integrated artificial intelligence algorithms ensure accurate detection of people and vehicles, reducing false alarms. Power is supplied either conventionally from the mains or conveniently via an Ethernet cable with PoE technology support.
At the heart of the optical system is a sensitive 1/2.8" Progressive Scan CMOS sensor, which works with a fixed 2.8mm focal length lens and an F/1.6 aperture. This combination allows the camera to capture video at a resolution of 2304 × 1296 px at a frame rate of up to 25 FPS. A wide horizontal viewing angle of 107.5° and a vertical angle of 57.2° covers an extensive area without blind spots. Modern H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264 compression technologies effectively reduce the load on the data network and save space on the storage device without degrading the resulting image quality.
Area monitoring continues uninterrupted even after dark thanks to an advanced hybrid lighting system with a range of up to 30m. The system uses one 850nm infrared LED for invisible illumination and one white LED spotlight. When an event is detected, the camera can activate the white light and instantly switch to Full-Colour mode to obtain detailed information about the colours of clothing or vehicles. Smart IR, WDR and 3D DNR technologies compensate for backlight and eliminate noise in dark scenes.
An integrated processor with artificial intelligence support analyses the captured scene in real time, distinguishing people and vehicles from other moving objects such as animals or falling leaves. Users can set specific behaviour rules, including line crossing, intrusion into a marked zone, area exit, or object removal detection. In the event of an intrusion, the device can trigger a visual alarm by flashing the white light and immediately send a notification to a mobile phone.
The body of the device includes an integrated high-sensitivity microphone that records ambient sound. The microphone has an effective range of up to 5m from the camera, providing additional information to the video recording for better situation assessment. Advanced ambient noise filtering removes distracting sounds from wind or traffic, leaving a clean audio track. The recorded audio is stored along with the video using G.711 compression with a 64 Kbps bitrate.
The camera offers flexible ways to store captured video recordings to ensure data security. Support for FTP and SFTP protocols securely sends files to remote servers or NAS network storage. The device works fully with NVR recorders and cloud services for continuous 24/7 recording or for saving only when motion is detected.
The dome-type design with mechanical rotation from 0° to 355° horizontally and 0° to 75° vertically facilitates precise lens alignment during installation. The construction boasts an IP67 rating against water and dust ingress and IK10 vandal resistance, enabling reliable operation in demanding outdoor conditions at temperatures from -30 °C to 60 °C. Power can be supplied via a 12V DC connector or over an Ethernet cable using the PoE 802.3af/at standard.
