WD Purple 6TB
The WD Purple 6TB hard drive ranks among the high load internal HDDs for storage solutions used by monitoring systems. The 3.5" format is designed primarily for desktop PCs, data centres, and other data-processing devices. The overall data capacity of the HDD is 6000 GB. The storage features a 256 MB memory cache. You can link the Western Digital hard disk and other hardware is takes place using the SATA III interface.
WD Purple 6TB HDD Key Features
- 256 MB memory cache
- Western Digital 3.5" drive for ordinary drive bays
- Standard power consumption is 4,7 W, while in stand-by mode it holds at 0.3 W
- It communicates with a PC or other devices through the SATA III interface
Standard HDDs are notable for their construction. Inside the hard drive there is a mechanism that uses moving platters accompanied by disk read and write heads. These mechanical parts are admittedly more sensitive to shocks, but this weak point is well-compensated by its amazing price/capacity ratio. File access speed and overall stability is also influenced by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Western Digital platter drive features a 256 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their speedy reading.
Connecting the Western Digital Hard Disk
In order to mount the WD Purple 6TB in the device of your choice, you need a 3.5" slot. Data sharing takes place using the SATA III interface with a speed of 3 Gbit/s. The technology ranks among the best HDD data transfer options available and delivers a speed of 600 MB/s.
