WD Red Pro 22TB
The WD Red Pro 22TB hard drive belongs among the high load internal HDDs compatible with NAS data storage solutions. The 3.5" format is designed mainly for desktop PCs and data centres. One of the key parameters is clearly the rotational speed (RPM). The 7200 rev/min RPM ensures improved system performance and faster data transfer. The hard disk provides a storage capacity of 22000 GB. The device has a 512 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Western Digital hard drive and the PC or other devices is facilitated via the SATA III interface.
WD Red Pro 22TB HDD Key Features
- 512 MB memory cache
- Western Digital 3.5" format disk for standard bays
- You can connect it to a PC or other devices through the SATA III interface
Other Hard Drive Features
Platter HDDs have a special construction. Inside the enclosure there is a mechanism that utilises moving platters, complete with disk read/write heads. These mechanical parts are admittedly more sensitive to shocks, but at the same time you get an affordable price tag and high storage capacity. The key parameter that affects the speed of a HDD is the number of rotations per minute (RPM). In case of the WD Red Pro 22TB, you can look forward to 7200 rev/min revolutions per minute. It's a great model for more demanding users, such as graphic designers, gamers, video editors, and people who tend to use large amounts of data. System responsivity and stability is also influenced by the disk buffer, usually called cache. The Western Digital HDD includes a 512 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their speedy reading.
Connecting the Western Digital Hard Drive
If you want to mount the WD Red Pro 22TB in your PC or other device, it must be equipped with a 3.5" slot. All communication with the computer happens through the SATA III interface with a speed of 3 Gbit/s. The technology is one of the best HDD data transfer options available and delivers a throughput of 600 MB/s.
