The Bresser Automatic 80/400 GoTo is a computer-controlled wide-angle achromatic refractor telescope with 20-160x magnification, which you can use especially when observing the Sun and astronomical objects in the night sky. It is also practical for observing distant objects, landscapes or difficult to observe animals. This telescope is a good choice for a first introduction to astronomy. Thanks to the user-friendly "First Use System" concept, it is easy to assemble, quick to set up and allows immediate first sky observation. The telescope uses an electronic GoTo system with servo motors in both axes and computer control via Computer Handbox. It can automatically point the Bresser telescope to the selected celestial object - just enter its name or select it from the built-in database of 270,000 known astronomical objects and the telescope will position itself for observation. The package also includes a high-quality solar filter for safe observation of sunspots, eclipses and planetary transits and a durable aluminum tripod.

The Bresser Automatic 80/400 telescope is mounted on a special alt-azimuthal single arm mount, which is equipped with electric servo motors that adjust the tube in both axes. The motors are controlled by a Computer Handbox with LCD display. After a basic calibration (alignment to a few bright stars), the GoTo system, equipped with the Stellarium Astronomy software, can automatically point the telescope precisely to the selected astronomical object.

The observation itself is very simple. You can randomly or purposely browse the starspace or enter the name of the desired astronomical object in the Computer Handbox or select it from the pre-installed database of 270,000 known objects. The Bresser Automatic 80/400 GoTo telescope adjusts itself to the correct viewing position. Beginners and casual observers will appreciate the system, as it helps them quickly find their way around and effortlessly locate the object they want to observe - for example, craters on the Moon, cloud bands on the rings of Jupiter or Saturn, bright planets or binary stars.
