Compatibility and portability for everyday use
The Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM features a smaller size and lighter construction than other L-series lenses. With a length of only 92.2 mm and a weight of under 500 g, the lens is very compact and easy to carry, making it the ideal travel companion. The lens is also equipped with a weather seal, providing enhanced protection against bad weather and making it reliable in a variety of conditions. The high f/2.8 aperture allows you to work even in low light, expanding the possibilities for creative photography.
Excellent optical quality for clear images
The optical performance of the Canon RF 28-70 mm f/2.8 IS STM is comparable to the best L-series lenses. Composed of 15 elements in 12 groups, it contains two ultra-low-dispersion (UD) glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration while ensuring lighter weight. Two aspherical elements suppress optical defects and contribute to the overall more compact size of the lens. The special Super Spectra Coating (SSC) effectively minimizes glare and ghosting in strong backlight, greatly enhancing the contrast and brightness of images.
Fast and silent autofocus for video and stills
The Canon RF 28-70 mm f/2.8 IS STM is equipped with a stepping motor (STM) that ensures fast, quiet and smooth autofocus. The motor is ideal for both still photography and video recording, as it allows smooth and silent transitions between focus without disturbing the recording sound. Image stabilisation compensates up to 5.5 EV, ensuring stable images even at slower shutter speeds. When used with compatible cameras with internal stabilisation (IBIS), stabilisation reaches up to 7 EV, greatly improving handheld shooting performance.
