Using the Default / VLAN / Extend mode switch, you can easily adapt the network's behaviour to your specific installation. VLAN mode isolates individual ports for enhanced network security, while Extend mode allows data transmission up to 250 metres, which is ideal for camera installations, for example. In addition, the PoE Watchdog feature can automatically restart a port if the connected device stops communicating. The Cudy switch supports IEEE 802.3af/at (PoE+) standards and provides up to 30W of power per port, letting you power devices directly via an ethernet cable. It's ideal for connecting Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, or digital information panels without needing separate adaptors.
Automatic PoE port recovery
The PoE Watchdog function monitors the activity of individual ports and helps keep connected devices running. If a connected device, such as an IP camera or Wi-Fi access point, stops transmitting data for approximately 5 minutes, the switch automatically restarts the respective PoE port and restores its operation without any manual intervention.Intelligent PoE power management
The CUDY switch offers intelligent power management to help maintain stable operation across the entire network. The PoE Max LED indicator alerts you when you reach approximately 90% of the available PoE power budget. If the available power is exceeded, the switch can automatically disconnect the last connected device to keep the rest of the network running smoothly.

The VLAN Mode on the CUDY switch provides effective port isolation, which significantly increases network security. In this mode, downlink ports can only communicate with uplink ports, not with each other. Thanks to Extend mode, the CUDY switch lets you extend the transmission distance of its ports up to 250 metres, which greatly simplifies installation in larger spaces. It's the ideal solution for places where you need to connect remote IP cameras, access points, or other devices without using additional active components.

The CUDY switch offers enhanced EMC protection, which helps to minimise outages caused by electrostatic discharge or power surges. It features ESD protection of up to 6kV on contact and 8kV in the air, while surge protection reaches 2kV (DM) and 4kV (CM) on the power supply and up to 4kV on the RJ45 ports. This protection makes the PoE switch suitable for more demanding environments where maximum network infrastructure reliability is essential.
