The Designo WBW3white wireless thermostat is used to regulate room temperature in both heating and cooling systems. This device controls gas boilers, electric boilers, solid fuel boilers, heat pumps, electric heating with a load of up to 10A, and underfloor heating. Users set the desired values directly on the backlit touchscreen display or in the mobile app. The device works based on values from the integrated temperature sensor with a resolution of 0.1°C. The system regulates heating and cooling within a range of 5°C to 35°C, with adjustment steps of 0.5°C.

Wireless communication
The system consists of a portable control unit and a switching unit connected to the heat source. Both parts communicate wirelessly on the 868MHz frequency. The signal range is up to 120m in an open space, ensuring a stable connection. This wireless transmission eliminates the need for cable installation between the boiler and the room unit.
Power supply method
The switching unit at the boiler requires a 230V mains connection. The room thermostat itself is powered by either four AAA alkaline batteries with a life of 5 to 6 months, or the included USB-C cable. These two power sources must not be used simultaneously. When powered via USB-C, the display brightness can be set from 0 to 100% in standby mode, with a default brightness of 40%. On battery power, the display turns off completely in sleep mode.
Mobile application
The device connects to a 2.4GHz WiFi network using the 802.11 b/g/n protocol. Users can control the heating remotely from anywhere in the world using the Tuya Smart or Smart Life apps, available in both Czech and English. These programs support mobile phones with both Android and iOS systems. The system offers to switch on the heating based on your phone's geolocation, so it starts heating as you approach home. You can pair the app with multiple mobile devices for other household members.
Programming options
Users can set a weekly heating schedule with a different programme for weekdays and weekends. Each day includes four separate temperature periods for changing the temperature. The device also has a manual mode for quickly changing the temperature outside the set schedule. The device saves all settings to its internal EEPROM memory, even during a power failure. There is also an integrated child lock to lock the control panel.
Open window detection function
The controller includes a function to detect a sudden drop in room temperature. When a window is opened for ventilation, the system automatically turns off the heating for a set period ranging from 2 to 30 minutes, with a default time of 15 minutes. The user defines the temperature drop for activation as 2°C, 3°C, or 4°C as needed. This detection is disabled by default. The time to resume heating after closing the window can be set from 10 to 60 minutes, with a default value of 30 minutes.
Installation and connection
The switching unit connects to the boiler using NO and NC volt-free contacts and requires a 230V power supply. The room unit can be wall-mounted using the mounting bracket or placed anywhere on the included stand. The device works without any issues even without a Wi-Fi connection, functioning as a standard local temperature controller. The wireless signal range between the units is up to 120m in open space on the 868MHz frequency. The connection of the switching unit to the boiler should be carried out by a qualified professional.
