Imagine a power outage a few seconds before your work was about to be automatically saved. Almost all your work has vanished, and you have to start again from nothing. Such uncomfortable (to put it mildly) situations can be warded off by the EATON UPS 5P 1150iR Gen2 Netpack backup source, or UPS. This is just another name for a battery reservoir that powers all devices that need electricity. The EATON UPS 5P 1150iR Gen2 Netpack UPS has the Line interactive design approach. Off-line is classified as the simplest form in case of a outage, since it switches to the internal battery for electric power. The line interactive UPS enhances the simpler off-line version of voltage regulation to guard against dangerous surges and spikes.

A key attribute is the UPS run time during outages. This depends on the power consumption of the connected electronics – for example, at half-load (50%), the battery backup time can last up to three times as long. The load of the UPS governs the operating time, which at full load is 3,2 min and at half-load, it's 12,5 min. It is therefore essential to determine the power consumption of the connected appliances and it is a good idea to add some spare power left. The EATON UPS 5P 1150iR Gen2 Netpack shows the apparent power as 1150, but in reality, the actual power usage is 920 W.
