Grandstream GWN7662, Wi-Fi 6 AX5400

Grandstream GWN7662, Wi-Fi 6 AX5400
The Grandstream GWN7662 WiFi Access Point lets you build powerful wireless networks in high-density environments like offices, warehouses, or educational institutions. This dual-band AX5400 access point uses the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard and delivers a total theoretical throughput of up to 5380Mbps. This allows it to handle demanding data traffic and high-resolution video streaming. Its architecture supports a large number of simultaneously connected devices and provides a stable connection for critical business applications. Integrated technologies optimise network performance and efficiently distribute available bandwidth among all clients.
Key features of the Grandstream GWN7662 Wi-Fi 6 AX5400 access point
- Uses MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies for efficient communication with multiple devices
- Provides signal coverage with a range of up to 175m
- Supports up to 256 client devices simultaneously
- Includes one Gigabit and one 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port
- Operates in Access Point mode
- Secures the network with WPA3 encryption and Anti-hacking secure boot
- Offers centralised management via the cloud, software, or a mobile app
Performance and Wi-Fi 6 technology
The access point operates on two frequency bands and harnesses the full potential of the 802.11ax standard. On the 5GHz band, it works with advanced 4×4:4 MU-MIMO technology, while the 2.4GHz band offers 2×2:2 MIMO. DL/UL OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies work together to efficiently manage data transfers and enable simultaneous communication with multiple devices, reducing latency and increasing overall network throughput. Thanks to the optimised design of its internal antennas, it covers an area with a range of up to 175 metres and serves up to 256 simultaneously connected clients.
Flexible network management
Grandstream GWN7662 offers several centralised management options. The free GDMS Networking cloud platform is used to configure and monitor an unlimited number of access points from a single interface. For local management, it offers the GWN Manager software. The built-in controller in each access point can also manage a network of up to 50 local GWN devices, which eliminates the need for a separate hardware controller. For quick setup and monitoring, it also offers the GWN.Cloud mobile app for smartphones.
Robust security
Wireless network protection is handled by the modern WPA3 encryption standard, which complements support for older WPA2-PSK and WPA2-Enterprise protocols to ensure compatibility. The security features include an Anti-hacking secure boot function, which prevents unauthorised firmware from running. Digital signatures protect the integrity of the device and its configuration from unauthorised tampering. The Guest Zone function is used to separate visitors from the internal network, creating an isolated and secure network for guests.
Connectivity
The device offers two Ethernet ports for connecting to a wired infrastructure. One port operates at 1Gbit/s and the other offers speeds of up to 2.5Gbit/s, which eliminates the bottleneck between the wireless and wired parts of the network. The unit is powered by Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. Support for the 802.3af and PoE+ 802.3at standards simplifies installation, as a separate power adapter and cable are not required for operation.
