The D-c-fix self-adhesive film will breathe new life into your furniture. It is also suitable for window panes, storage boxes, files, jars, tiles, doors, door frames and kitchen units. It is non-toxic, environmentally friendly and lightfast, making it safe for use in children's rooms. It contains no heavy metals and the adhesive used is solvent-free. It is also abrasion-resistant. You can apply it to all smooth, dry, and clean surfaces, as well as absorbent ones. The D-c-fix film has an integrated self-adhesive layer, which makes it easy to apply. You can cut it to size with scissors or a utility knife as needed.
How to use:
Clean and degrease the surface. Clean window panes with an alcohol-based cleaner and let them dry. Clean furniture and laminate with a damp cloth. First, carefully measure everything dry, paying close attention to the pattern direction for wood-effect films. You can cut the film with scissors, but for a more precise cut, use a utility knife and a metal straightedge. When applying to larger areas, it's a good idea to moisten the surface with a water sprayer. This does not apply to mirror, chalkboard, metallic-effect, or velour self-adhesive films. Water is ideal for window films and wood-effect films. Peel back about 10cm of the backing paper and place the adhesive side onto the surface. Slowly and gradually pull off the backing paper while smoothing the film with a squeegee or sponge. Push out any bubbles to the side. If the film wrinkles or becomes misaligned, carefully peel it back, stretch it to correct, and reapply. The film has a so-called “bonding timer”, which means you can only make corrections by peeling it off within a few to several dozen minutes. After a few hours, the adhesive will bond firmly, and corrections will no longer be possible. When covering larger areas that require joining pieces, it's best to overlap by 5–10mm. Leave an overhang at the edges and trim it at the end. When wrapping edges or curves, you can use a hot air gun, which will soften the film and allow it to bend and stretch. You must work carefully to avoid irreversible damage to the film. You can also use a squeegee for smoothing.
