The author of the game is again Steve Jackson, which continues the tradition of bringing absurd humour and new gameplay elements to the Munchkin universe. Interestingly, the name of this expansion was chosen in a contest where fans sent in their suggestions. The winning title, "Half a Furnace Goes," was chosen by Steve Jackson himself, giving the expansion a distinctive feel and involving the fan community in the game's creation. The illustrations are traditionally done by John Kovalic, whose characteristic style perfectly captures the absurd nature of the new races, monsters and situations. The Czech localization was released shortly after the original, allowing Czech players to quickly get involved in new adventures in the world of Munchkin.
