Kirk & Sweeney. A rum named after the wooden schooner that smuggled Caribbean rum into prohibition-era America. The ship didn't bring the rum directly to the mainland. Instead, it would anchor just outside U.S. territorial waters and sell the alcohol to smaller boats. These boats could then deliver it much more safely to rum-thirsty customers ashore. A vessel like that deserves a tribute, and a great rum is the best way to do it. Kirk and Sweeney 18 Year Old Rum is made in the Dominican Republic from fresh sugar cane. After distillation, it rests for 18 years in oak barrels, where it develops its brownish-copper colour and an aroma of dried fruit, complemented by the scent of freshly baked sweet pastries.
