Wide palette of sounds and sound effects
The synthesizer offers up to 120-voice polyphony and features a total of 1075 programs. It is designed to meet the needs of both bands and solo musicians, making it easy to incorporate modern musical styles such as EDM. KROSS 2 features 128MB of built-in expansion PCM memory, which you can use to load sounds from optional libraries. The EDS-i sound engine offers a total of 134 effect types, including delay and reverb.
Sampling and working with your own sounds
KORG Kross 2-61 White features a sampling function with 16 sampling pads. It lets you record audio via the LINE IN jack and then assign a stereo sample of up to 14 seconds to each pad. You can trigger up to four pads simultaneously. You can then edit the sampled audio using start/stop, loop and normalisation settings. Resampling is also available directly on the device, without requiring any extra equipment. You can also assign audio files stored on an SD card to individual pads.
Intuitive synthesizer controls and quick access to features
The KROSS 2 synthesizer offers a user-friendly control layout and boasts several improvements over the previous generation:
- Real-time parameter control – a dedicated section lets you quickly adjust sound parameters while playing
- Favorite function – save frequently used programs and recall them instantly, with up to 128 memory slots available
- Quick Layer/Split functions – easily layer two sounds or split the keyboard into left and right zones with different sounds
- Sound category selection – the Category dial lets you quickly find the program category you need
Compact design and battery power
The 61-key version features a compact design weighing just 3.8kg, making it easy to carry between the rehearsal room, studio and stage. It also runs efficiently, giving you up to seven hours of operation on six AA alkaline batteries. The functional design is completed by a backlit KORG logo on the rear panel.
Audio recorder and audio file playback
Thanks to the integrated stereo audio recorder, you can record your performance directly on the synthesizer or add audio from an external input. You can save recorded audio files to an SD card and then assign them to one of the 16 sampling pads. The available recording time depends on the capacity of your card. By pressing a pad, you can play back an entire song, backing track or sound effects while performing on the keyboard.
Sequencer, rhythm tools and song creation
