Image Parameters
At the heart of the device is a 5MP CMOS sensor with a 5Mpx resolution, which captures video at 2688 × 1512px at 30 frames per second. A fixed lens with a 2.8mm focal length and an F1.6 aperture directs light straight onto the sensor for a clear rendering of the scene. The field of view covers angles of 102.4° horizontally, 54.9° vertically, and 120.6° screen sizely. Efficient H.264 and MJPEG video compression reduces network traffic demands and saves storage space.
Detection and Night Vision
Built-in infrared diodes with an IR filter illuminate the scene in the dark up to a distance of 6m. The system instantly recognises selected objects in the field of view and distinguishes between people, vehicles, and animals. This image analysis significantly reduces false alarms caused by moving leaves or changes in light. Users receive accurate notifications on their mobile phones only in the event of a real incident.
Audio and Power
Two-way communication is provided by a built-in microphone and speaker, facilitating direct contact with people in front of the lens. The durable polycarbonate body with an IPX5 rating and IK04 vandal protection withstands adverse weather in a temperature range from -20 to 40°C. The device requires a stable power supply via the USB-C interface with a 5V voltage, with power consumption not exceeding 6W. A sturdy wall-mount bracket is included in the package.
Connectivity and App
Wireless connection to the network is handled by the WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac standard. The Bluetooth interface assists with initial pairing and configuration. Management and live stream monitoring is provided by the UniFi Protect mobile app, which supports iOS and Android operating systems. The entire system also supports access through web browsers on Windows.
The design of the IP camera determines its physical construction and design, which then influences where it will be placed and for what purposes it will be used. For example, Dome cameras are discreet and suitable for indoors, while Bullet cameras are ideal for outdoor use. PTZ cameras offer the ability to move and zoom, making them suitable for large-scale surveillance systems.
Night vision for IP cameras, which is crucial for monitoring in dim or dark conditions, offers different modes: classic black and white, color for low light and hybrid, which allows switching according to lighting conditions.
The maximum range of eye vision determines how far the camera can effectively detect and record images at night or in low light conditions. This characteristic is particularly important for night vision and is affected by both the quality of the camera sensors and the strength of the infrared illumination.
The IK mechanical resistance rating indicates the ability of the device to withstand impact, important for outdoor products and protection in hazardous or vandalism-prone locations.
