Where did the author of the manuscript that no one is allowed to read and everyone is afraid of disappear to?
The Silkworm, the second book in a series of highly acclaimed detective novels featuring Cormoran Strike and his energetic young assistant Robin Ellacott, is a gripping and readable tale.
When writer Owen Quine goes missing, his wife turns to private investigator Cormoran Strike. At first he thinks he's disappeared for a few days - he's done that a few times in the past - and just wants Strike to find him and bring him home.
But as the investigation progresses, it becomes increasingly clear to Strike that there is a bigger secret behind Quine's disappearance than his wife thinks. The novelist has just finished a manuscript in which he has portrayed almost all of his acquaintances with wry malice. If the novel was published, it would ruin a lot of people's lives. So there are plenty of people who might have wanted to silence him. And when Quine is found brutally murdered in bizarre circumstances, a battle against time begins to understand the motivations of a cruel killer; a killer unlike any Strike has ever encountered...
Dangerous handwriting. A brutal murder. Thrilling investigation.

They wrote about the book:
A damn good read and a couple that will take you by the heart.

. The Silkworm is the second gripping whodunit starring Cormoran Strike after The Cuckoo's Calling - last year's hit. Engaging observations, a fast-paced plot and a dash of wry humour.

Robert Galbraith
Joanne Kathleen Rowling (born 31 July 1965 in Yate) is a British author writing under the name J. K. Rowling. She is best known for the Harry Potter series of children's books about the wizard's apprentice, which has won worldwide success, numerous awards and sold more than 400 million copies. All 7 episodes were also made into movies. After finishing the Harry Potter series, the author started writing for adults. However, after her novel The Empty Place, she decided to use a pseudonym and impersonate "aspiring writer Robert Galbreith" for her next book in a completely different genre, a mystery. Rowling's secret was revealed when the Sunday Times began to wonder how a debut author could have created such a great work. "I was hoping to keep this secret a little longer because being Robert Galbraith has been an immensely liberating experience, " Rowling said. "It was great to publish without media hype or expectation, and it was pure joy to get feedback under a different name," she added. One reviewer called the book "a fascinating debut", and another praised the male author's ability to describe women's dress. The clue to who the real author was was the fact that Rowling and "Galbraith" have the same agent and publisher. One can also find similarities in the style of the new mystery and Rowling's other works. In addition to writing the Harry Potter books, Rowling is also known for her life story, where she went from living on welfare to becoming a multimillionaire in five years.
