Electric Light Orchestra: Eldorado, A Symphony By The Electric Light Orchestra
Music CD Jeff Lynne introduced a key innovation on the fourth ELO record. "Eldorado" is the first album for which Lynne hired a full orchestra; on previous records, he overdubbed the strings. Lynne brought in string arranger Louis Clark to use a complete orchestra for the recordings. This approach paid off immediately with the ambitious album Eldorado in September 1974, which boosted the band's global popularity and perfected an approach that would bear fruit for years to come.
