Hunger

A double portion of Jozef Karika's dark imagination is published as a double-audiobook Hunger/Smäd.

Each of the audiobooks offers a separate experience, but the story takes on new layers of meaning when reading both.

An unnaturally tall man with a suitcase hiding the worst nightmares, a brutal killer in a yellow windbreaker, a creepy mask made of old burlap.

The chilling narrative captures a century of the ghostly history of the Čebrat hill and the nearby Ružomberok. The author presents it through a masterfully composed mosaic of stories that intertwine in space and time.

"This double-audiobook was written differently from my previous novels. I wanted to put together a collection of my older and new mystery novels. As I worked, I noticed that they created a coherent narrative. My subconscious has been dosing me with it for twenty years. This discovery took me by surprise; I was astonished to uncover the most frightening story I have yet encountered."
