A chilling young adult novel set in the last days before the end of the world
You're seventeen years old. It's summer, and the world looks completely normal. But you know what's coming. Comet Foxworth is hurtling towards Earth and in about a month, on 16 September at 4:12 a.m. to be exact, it will all be over. Four million years of evolution will be for nothing. What will you do with the time you have left? Who do you want beside you when the end comes? What's it like to know the exact day and time you're going to die? The End is an apocalyptic novel about two lonely young people in a world whose time is almost up. They are connected by a tragedy that grows into an obsession. Will they manage to find the answers before the sky turns white and the oceans evaporate?
Reviews:
The most prominent feature of Strandberg's writing is his ability to portray human feelings, and it's questionable whether he has ever done it better than this. The End is an incredibly thrilling and well-written novel about the end of the world—you're in for a great experience!
- BJT Magazine
As always, Mats Strandberg has an excellent feel for the language and behaviour of young people. The End is a young adult novel that will appeal just as much to adult readers.
