Parov Stelar: The Burning Spider - CD

It's not just the spider that's burning, but the whole web. Driven by a strong will to break free from the spider's web of expectation and inspired by the fire of creativity, Parov Stelar reveals an unexpected side to his music on his new album, “The Burning Spider”, opening a new chapter in his sound, built on samples using historical music recordings.

Much of the unique Parov Stelar sound that fans from all over the world have come to love remains, but the influences and references have been re-evaluated. While his last albums drew mainly on swing references, which made Stelar a global star of the genre, he now offers a new sound with elements of blues and jazz that bridges different decades. At the same time, he constantly re-evaluates music history, and long-time fans will rediscover stylistic elements that have been pushed into the background in recent years.

Where Parov Stelar has previously used only sampled vocals under his brand, he now features specific names of greats like Muddy Waters and Lightnin' Hopkins, as well as the singer Anduze from the Virgin Islands, who has worked with Parov before and plays a key role on the new album. And, more or less as a bonus, the album features three classic Parov Stelar tracks with a slight dose of swing, because even when you're taking giant leaps forward, you shouldn't forget where you came from. And swing is a part of Parov Stelar.
