Return from hell

A powerful story set in a concentration camp during World War II. How will these experiences affect single life?

Karel, a medical student who helps his father in the bakery, falls in love with his neighbour's daughter. A trivial story, if it hadn't been before the outbreak of the war and the chosen Marushka wasn't Jewish. After the Germans arrived, Karl's wife, daughter and son disappeared in the concentration camp. Karel is incredibly tormented by his regrets that he was unable to prevent the transport of his wife and children to Terezín. Karel is not spared from acts of treachery and finds himself in the camp as well. By chance, he learns that his wife and children are in the same camp...

An exceptional, well-written book that vividly describes all the horrors of the world. But not in a self-serving way; the strength of friendship, love of family and cohesion shines through the narrative. And also the question of how the experience in the camp will affect the rest of our lives. Will he be reunited with his family? Will he avenge all the wrongs that life has brought his way? The author heard the story from his grandmother.
